Bryan D. Dietrich lives in Wichita, Kansas, and is a professor of English at Newman University. He is the author of six books of poems, Krypton Nights, Universal Monsters, Love Craft, Prime Directive, The Monstrance, and now The Assumption. Having won The Paris Review Poetry Prize, a "Discovery"/The Nation Award, a Writers at Work Fellowship, the Isotope Editors' Prize, an Asimov's Readers' Choice Award, and the Eve of St. Agnes Prize, Dietrich has also been a finalist for the Yale Younger Poets Series and the Walt Whitman Award, and has been nominated for both the Pushcart and the Pulitzer. He has published poems in The New Yorker, The Nation, Poetry, Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, The Paris Review, Harvard Review, The Yale Review, Asimov's, Weird Tales, and many other journals.
