Lisa Russ Spaar is the author of several books of poems, most recently Vanitas, Rough, forthcoming from Persea Books in 2012. Her awards include a Rona Jaffe Award for Emerging Women Writers and a Guggenheim Fellowship. She is editor of Acquainted with the Night: Insomnia Poems (Columbia University Press, 1999) and All That Mighty Heart: London Poems (University of Virginia Press, 2008). Spaar is poetry editor of the Chronicle of Higher Education Review and teaches at the University of Virginia.
